Senthil Nath has around 10 years of experience in the tunnelling industry with project experience in multiple countries (Singapore, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, UAE, Germany & Bangladesh). He gained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s degree in Geotechnical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India and TU Dresden, Germany. He was awarded with the ITA’s ITACET Scholarship to pursue a 2nd Level Specialised Masters in “Tunnelling and TBMs” at Politecnico di Torino, Italy and is currently working with Geoconsult. He has gained experience in handling diversified underground projects including TBM and SEM/NATM Tunnels, underpinning structures, Rock caverns, deep foundations and excavation support systems for mining as well as transportation projects (road and rail tunnels).
He is an active member of the Singapore tunnelling society (TUCSS), Secretary of Geotechnical Society of Singapore’s (GeoSS) youth wing and has served as the ITAym steering committee member. He has been shortlisted twice for ITA’s “Young Tunneller of the year” (2016 & 2018) and has been awarded “Young Tunneller of the Year” at the NCE Tunnelling Awards 2016 in London, UK. He has won TUCSS’ prestigious Hulme Prize for three of his technical publications.
