Goetz Vollmann is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Tunnelling and Construction Management at the Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany. He has a doctoral degree in civil engineering and has been working as a lecturer, researcher and consultant in the field of tunnel operation, tunnel safety and security for the last 20 years. He has been involved in a couple of large national and international projects and is also a member of ITA-COSUF, the ITA-Committee on Operational Safety and Security of Underground Facilities. There, he is running AG3, the activity group on research and new findings.
