Claude Berenguier, Executive Director of the ITACET Foundation, sat on the panel of examiners who listened to the students of the post-graduate Master's in Tunnelling and Tunnel Boring Machines defend their theses at the Politecnico di Torino on 6th December 2016. The session was opened by the Director of Master's, Mr Carlo Rafaele. Other members of the panel were Mr Daniele Peila, Course Director for this Master's, Mrs Monica Barbero, Director of Education and Mr Danile Martinelli.

The members of the Foundation’s Council met in Lyon on 4th November in order to discuss operational and strategic issues related to the Foundations’ activities. One of the main topics discussed was the transfer of the Foundation’s head office from the EPFL to BG’s premises in Lausanne and the transfer of the operational secretariat to its new premises. Amongst other issues, the Council discussed recent and forthcoming training sessions, budgetary issues, the launch of the new web site and the next issue of the Foundations’ newsletter.

The ITACET Committee has finalized training programmes on three new topics: - Sustainable Tunnelling - Numerical Simulation for Tunnel Design - Calculation Methods for Tunnel Design Training sessions on these topics can be organized by the ITA-CET Foundation on request.

The ITACET Foundation is pleased to present its new web site. Over the last few weeks, members of our team have been working hard with web designers “Les Networkers” to give the site a whole new look! Our aim was to provide you with a more modern, informative and user-friendly version.
